How to Set an Alarm on Your iPhone for Tomorrow Morning

July 2, 2026 · by Porchswing Technology

Remember the wind-up alarm clock on the nightstand? You'd twist the little key on the back, set the bell for 6:30, and hope it was loud enough to do the job. Your iPhone can do the same thing — and it won't slow down or need a fresh battery in the middle of the night.

Here's how to set one for tomorrow morning, step by step.

Finding the Clock

Your iPhone comes with an app called Clock. The icon looks like a white clock face on a black background — and here's a nice touch, the hands actually move in real time, just like a real clock.

Look for it on your home screen. If you can't spot it, swipe your finger down from the middle of the screen and type "Clock" in the search bar that appears at the top. Tap the Clock icon when you see it.

Setting the Alarm

Once the Clock app is open, look at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a row of small words: World Clock, Alarm, Stopwatch, Timer. Tap Alarm.

Now tap the plus sign (+) in the top right corner. A screen will pop up with numbers for the hour and minutes. Spin the hour up or down with your finger — like turning the dial on an old radio — until it lands on the hour you want. Do the same with the minutes. Make sure it says AM for morning (not PM, which is afternoon and evening).

When the time looks right, tap Save in the top right corner. That's it. Your alarm is set, and you'll see it listed on the Alarm screen with a green switch beside it, meaning it's turned on.

Making Sure It Will Actually Ring

Two things worth checking before you go to bed:

First, look at the switch next to your alarm. If it's green and pushed to the right, the alarm is on. If it's gray and pushed to the left, tap it to turn it green.

Second — and this catches a lot of folks — your alarm will ring even if your phone is on silent. That's the good news. So don't worry about flipping the ringer switch on the side of your phone. The alarm gets through anyway.

One more tip: plug your phone in overnight. That way you're not counting on the battery, and it's right there charged and ready when you wake up.

When the Alarm Goes Off

In the morning, your phone will ring and the screen will light up. You'll see two choices:

  • Stop — turns the alarm off completely.
  • Snooze — gives you 9 more minutes before it rings again (just like the old snooze button).

If you'd rather not have a snooze option at all, you can turn it off when you set the alarm. On that same screen where you picked the time, you'll see a line that says "Snooze" with a green switch. Tap it to turn it off, then tap Save.

One Thing to Try Today

Set an alarm right now for five minutes from now. When it rings, tap Stop. That way, when tomorrow morning comes, you'll already know exactly what to expect — the sound, the screen, the button to tap. No surprises, no fumbling in the dark.
